How to make it more comfortable to say no!

Have you made the decision to take a break from alcohol? Or perhaps you've decided you want to try and reduce the amount of alcohol you're drinking through the week? Maybe you're pregnant or on medication? Whatever the reason, here are our top 3 tips to keep the temptation at bay!

1) Have non-alcoholic drinks that you like in the fridge

That's right. Make sure you have non-alcoholic drinks that you like. Whether it be non-alcoholic beers, wines or pre-mixed spirits, ensure that you've taken the time to try a few different products to determine what you like! There's a non-alcoholic product for everyone, be it dry, sweet or bitter! Keep an open mind as you try different products, you might be surprised at how similar or interesting they taste!

2) Be confident and tell your friends and family!

Honesty is the best policy here. If you're off the booze, tell your friends, co-workers and family. It will make it easier when you're out socialising so that you don't have to repeat why you're not drinking. If anything, they might ensure that there are good options for you at the next gathering or at your next event! Your friends, family and co-workers will understand your reasons for taking time off or removing alcohol from your lifestyle. They may even join in and have one with you!

3) Choose venues that have the non-alcoholic options you like

If you're heading out for dinner or for a drink after work, get to know your venues and what they have on the menu. That might mean you need to ring around or ask them if it's okay to BYO. The more comfortable you are the easier it will be to say no to temptation!

I hope these few little tips will help make your time not drinking that little bit more easier!
